What Does My Dream Mean?

What Does My Dream Mean?

Your dreams are the most important key that you have to understanding your own symbology (psychic language). They reveal everything we need to know about our own nature, our past conditioning, and our future directions. They reveal our next steps on our spiritual quest, as well as act as a voice of our subconscious.

The usefulness of dreaming is only limited by your imagination and your desire to know and understand yourself. Interpreting our dreams can help us solve our problems, and become stronger, more courageous, and more directed. Through our dreams, we can meet our guides, and our long-hidden aspects of ourselves; we can travel in other dimensions, and we can predict the future.

But what good is dreaming when you don’t remember them once you wake up? Here’s a tip on how you can get a hold of your dreams and be able to give sense to them.

Keep a notebook in which you write down as many dreams as you can remember. Try to write down the dream immediately upon waking when it is fresh in your mind, or during the day when all of a sudden you recall a dream.

Dream characters can be:

  • Parts of yourself, e.g., if you dream about your mother it may well be that you are dreaming about that part of yourself which is the nurturing, caring part.
  • Symbolic of a feeling, e.g., if you dream about your boss, a policeman or a school teacher it could just be that you are dreaming about authority.
  • Reminders of other people especially if we have unfinished or unsaid business with these people and we don’t want to acknowledge it.

Ask yourself;

  • What feeling does the symbol have? For example, fire or death usually evokes fear in the dreamer, but dreaming of ire or of dying usually heralds great change in the person’s life. We usually fear change and therefore fear the symbol.
  • What does the symbol represent in everyday life? For example, a suitcase means travel, or a suitcase too heavy to lift could mean reluctant travel.
  • What does the symbol represent to you specifically? For example, if, as a child, you were locked in your bedroom then bedrooms may be a symbol unique to you and represent something like punishment.

There are books full of dream symbols and what they mean, though it is best to take time to discover your own psychic language and dream symbols. To interpret symbols for yourself, you need to practice the art of self-questioning.
